Ana Hotels has a rich history as the first hotel built in Poiana Brasov, opened to tourists in 1951.

The building has undergone numerous changes and additions, due to the need of functionality and updating the requirements of the tourists. The reception - For us, this intervention had primarily functional implications. The proposed transformations are based on very clear principles, such as getting more natural light and widening the perception of the space. This was achieved both by installing velux windows in the open gallery of the Reception and by reorganizing the desk and the flows between spaces.

Aesthetically - we found a simple but impactful approach to be appropriate, with light stone taking up most of the surfaces. Punctually, it manifests itself in its pure, rock form (fireplace and desk). The wood remains mostly on the surface of the ledge but descends behind the reception to accommodate the desk and luggage area. The light that penetrates through the proposed veluxes is used to emphasize the desk area. The copper inserts together with the vegetation - beautifully complement the dominance of the stone surfaces. The relocation of the fireplace and the desk have increased the perception of the space, making it much more open.
